Indie Greenlight — for independent theaters
Fill your slow nights. Risk nothing. On your terms.
We bring audience-backed showings of quality independent films to your quiet nights — a show only lands on your screen after enough seats are already sold, under deal terms you set yourself.
Count your screen in — five-minute sign-upYou've told us the problem
Theater owners keep telling us the same two things: screens sit near-empty on weeknights, and you'd gladly program more independent film — you just have no good way to FIND it. No time to sift a slush pile, no way to know what's finished, projection-ready, and worth your screen.

How it works for you
- 1
Browse a curated shelf, not a slush pile
Every film on Indie Greenlight is finished, vetted, and delivery-ready for your booth — whether you run a digital cinema server, Blu-ray, or a file into your projector. Watch a private watermarked screener, check the specs, see how the film performed in other towns. And you're never vouching for anything: if a film isn't right for your house, you simply decline.
- 2
Set your own terms
Your profile holds YOUR deal: maybe “$250 to open the room, everything above goes to the filmmaker,” maybe a straight split, maybe a split with a minimum ticket count — whatever makes a night worthwhile for you. From your terms, we work out how many reserved seats a show needs before it's confirmed. Filmmakers see the deal up front and take it or leave it. No haggling, no surprises.
- 3
Say yes to a night, not a gamble
The showing goes up as “filling up.” Moviegoers reserve in advance — and the show is only confirmed once enough seats are reserved to clear YOUR number. Clear it, and you open the doors to a room that already paid. Fall short, and nobody was charged, your night is still yours, and it cost you exactly zero.
- 4
Keep what matters
Roughly half the box office plus every dollar of concessions — and concessions on 50–100 extra guests on a dead Tuesday is often the best money of the deal. Walk-ups on the night are captured too: a QR at the door lets them buy on their phones (or your staff taps one button for cash sales), so day-of demand adds to everyone's take. Sell out, and we'll flag it: overflow demand is the perfect reason to book a second showing.

We do the heavy lifting
Delivery ahead of time with a required test-play, so there's never a surprise in the booth. Ready-made promotion — a newsletter blurb for your list, a pre-show slide, poster art — one click and it's out. Many showings include a live on-screen Q&A with the director, which turns a screening into an event your regulars talk about. And your share arrives within days through an impartial payment processor — we never hold your money.
Our promise to independents
Independent theaters get first choice, always. A chain only ever sees a showing that the local independent declined — or where no independent exists at all. We are, demonstrably and every time, for the independent venue.
Why believe us
Because independent theaters across the country are already booking our film Abductee the old-fashioned way — one phone call at a time — and asking us for more like it. Indie Greenlight is that request, answered.
Give us one slow night
If the night doesn't fill, you've lost nothing. If it does, you've found a revenue stream that was sitting dark.
